NY Dems Slam GOP For Holding Out Against Health Exchange

Law360, New York (March 28, 2012, 5:38 PM EDT) -- New York Democrats on Wednesday blasted Republicans in control of the state Senate for refusing to create a federally mandated health insurance exchange, in a return to bare-knuckle politics a day after lawmakers reached an accord on a $133 billion budget.

The refusal saw Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo vow Tuesday to go forward with the exchange by executive order, leading to a key senate Democrat's comment that Republicans led by Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos were "holding hostage the health and well-being of all New Yorkers."...
