Costner Wants Sanctions, Contempt In Cleanup Co. Suit

Law360, New York (March 29, 2012, 6:24 PM EDT) -- Kevin Costner — who is fighting a suit claiming he duped Stephen Baldwin and another investor out of their oil cleanup company interests while making a $52 million deal with BP PLC — on Wednesday asked a Louisiana federal court to sanction an investor for allegedly failing to comply with a discovery request.

Costner asked the Eastern District of Louisiana to sanction plaintiff Spyridon Contogouris for failing to produce financial documents despite a March 14 order compelling the production of the evidence.
