Judge Denies Trane's Arbitration Bid In FLSA Case

Law360 (August 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused a request by the air conditioner unit of American Standard Inc. to force its unhappy workers into arbitration over wages, ruling the employees were entitled to take their case directly to court.

U.S. District Judge T. John Ward denied The Trane Company's motion to stay the proceedings in the case, dismissing argument that the unionized workers were bound by the arbitration clause of their collective bargaining agreement.
