Union Targets Stop & Shop Over Facebook Policy

Law360, New York (March 30, 2012, 6:40 PM EDT) -- Accusing The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. LLC of implementing an overbroad social media policy, in violation of federal labor law, New York's largest grocery workers' union filed charges with the National Labor Relations Board on Tuesday.

The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1500 lodged its allegations with the NLRB regional office in Brooklyn, claiming the company's social media policy is impermissibly vague, overbroad and violates its employees' rights under Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act.
