More Medtronic Plaintiffs Bow Out Of MDL

Law360, New York (August 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Six more plaintiffs have withdrawn their lawsuits against medical device maker Medtronic Inc. over its allegedly defective defibrillators, the latest in a number of people who have had to bow out after the judge limited the criteria for taking part in the large multidistrict litigation.

A number of plaintiffs have voluntarily dismissed their claims without prejudice in recent weeks because the defibrillators that their cases referred to did not match the serial numbers of the recalled devices to which the case was limited, said Hunter Shkolnik,...
