Xerox, Others Hit With IP Claims Over Printers, Cameras

Law360, New York (April 3, 2012, 1:13 PM EDT) -- Three electronics companies including Xerox Corp. were sued for infringement in Texas federal court on Monday by a patent-holding company that alleges the companies' printers, copiers and cameras use patented ethernet networking technology without a license.

The patent holder, U.S. Ethernet Innovations LLC, filed separate suits against Xerox, Ricoh Americas Corp. and Trendnet Inc., claiming each company makes and sells products incorporating patents for ethernet technology that USEI owns as successor-in-interest of 3Com Corp.'s ethernet business. 3Com is now owned by Hewlett Packard Co.
