Fed. Circ. Reignites Paper Cos.' Pulp Screening Patent Fight

Law360, New York (April 3, 2012, 4:33 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Tuesday put J&L Fiber Services Inc. back on the hook over alleged infringement of competitor Advanced Fiber Technologies Trust's patent on paper and pulp screening devices, ruling that a lower court improperly interpreted a term in the patent.

The appeals dispute focused on language in AFT's patent — U.S. Patent Number RE39,940 — which described a "perforated" screening medium or plate used in pulp and paper processing.
