Paul Weiss Atty Can't Nix Madoff-Related Divorce Deal

Law360, New York (April 3, 2012, 1:51 PM EDT) -- A Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP partner cannot sue his ex-wife to renegotiate a $6.6 million divorce payout that included a worthless investment with Bernard L. Madoff, New York's highest court said Tuesday.

The New York Court of Appeals unanimously overturned a January 2011 decision reviving a suit Steven Simkin filed against ex-wife Laura Blank in February 2009 after news of Madoff's Ponzi scheme broke.
