VA Ponders Update To Health Care Acquisition Rule

Law360, New York (April 3, 2012, 5:57 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is reviewing a 2003 rule establishing procedures for the competitive acquisition of health care resources, considering whether a change is needed to minimize adverse economic impacts on small businesses, the agency announced Tuesday.

Although the VA received no public comment when the original rule was proposed nine years ago and has not received any complaints about it since, the agency is considering whether the rule should be updated to reflect any changes in the field since 2003, the VA said....
