Ex-TWA Pilots Push To Uphold Union Agreements With AMR

Law360, New York (April 4, 2012, 8:47 PM EDT) -- A group representing former Trans World Airline pilots objected Tuesday to plans by American Airline Inc.'s parent AMR Corp. to jettison union agreements as part of its ongoing bankruptcy proceedings.

The American Independent Cockpit Alliance Inc., representing the former TWA pilots, objected to the debtor's motion filed in New York bankruptcy court seeking to reject the collective bargaining agreement between American and the Allied Pilots Association. TWA joined American in a 2001 merger and shortly afterward went into bankruptcy as part of the arrangement.
