Feds Eye Sushi As Possible Culprit In Salmonella Outbreak

Law360, Chicago (April 4, 2012, 1:32 PM EDT) -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday it is probing a salmonella outbreak that sickened 93 people in 19 states, a day after another federal agency accidentally leaked a memo revealing some of the sickened people had eaten sushi.

The CDC, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and state and local officials are interviewing people in 19 states and the District of Columbia about foods they ate before becoming sickened by salmonella Bareilly, a rare strain of the bacteria.
