Pipeline Cos. To Pay $2.9M For Waterway Spills

Law360, New York (August 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two Houston-based oil and gas distributors will pay almost $2.9 million and make safety upgrades to their pipeline systems to resolve a U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit that accused them of violating the Clean Water Act and discharging more than 6,000 thousand gallons of jet fuel, gasoline and crude oil into U.S. waterways.
