Thomson Revives V-Chip Patent Suit

Law360, New York (August 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Electronics maker Thomson Inc. has renewed its fight against claims that it infringes patents purportedly covering “V-chip” adult content censoring technology after a federal appeals court ruling opened the way for a lawsuit.

Thomson, a subsidiary of French company Thomson SA, filed a new lawsuit on Tuesday for declaratory judgment of invalidity, non-infringement and unenforceability of two patents owned by Guardian Media Technologies Ltd., which claims that several television and electronics manufacturers are violating the patents.
