DLA Piper Moves To Toss Lawyer's Discrimination Suit

Law360, New York (August 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- DLA Piper LLP has asked a judge to throw out a former employee's discrimination lawsuit against the law firm, after she once again missed the psychiatric examination she was required to attend this week.

Charlene Morisseau, a black ex-attorney at DLA Piper, was ordered to show up for a second day of psychiatric testing on Tuesday, but instead missed the appointment and filed for an order to show cause. Judge Lewis Kaplan of the U.S. District Court of Manhattan, however, denied the request as “baseless.”...
