Biax's Patents Not Infringed: ITC

Law360 (August 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has affirmed its earlier decision that Philips Semiconductors BV was not infringing on Biax Corp.'s patents in the ongoing litigation over digital systems.

The ITC's notice of review, released last Tuesday, said only that it confirmed the patent was not infringed, but it did not rule on whether the patent was enforceable or valid. It had reviewed the earlier decision at Biax's request.

Neither side's counsel could immediately be reached for comment.
