Kasowitz Fights For $7M Fee From Duane Reade

Law360, New York (April 6, 2012, 12:02 PM EDT) -- Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP told a New York state appeals court Thursday that Duane Reade Inc. owes the firm a $7.1 million success fee from litigation with an ATM provider, even though the pharmacy chain pulled the plug on the lawsuit.

The dispute stems from an agreement that gave the law firm a $1 million flat fee and a success fee of 20 percent of any value more than $4 million recovered in Duane Reade's suit against Cardtronics LP, a company that installed ATMs...
