Gas Titans Probed Over Possible FCPA Violations In Libya

Law360, New York (April 5, 2012, 7:23 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has subpoenaed two major international oil and gas producers, Italy's Eni SpA and France's Total SA, over potential Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations in Libya, according to the companies' annual reports filed with the SEC in recent weeks.

Eni, which filed its annual 20-F report with the regulatory agency Thursday, said it had received a subpoena from the SEC on June 10, requesting information on the company's activities in Libya between 2008 and 2011.
