NY Bill Calls For Earthquake-Fracking Link Study

Law360, New York (April 9, 2012, 4:07 PM EDT) -- New York state Sen. Tony Avella, concerned about the potential seismic effects that hydraulic fracturing is having on areas where the practice is used, on Monday introduced a bill that calls for a university study on the question.

Avella's bill is one of more than 40 addressing fracking introduced during New York's current legislative session and comes on the heels of a federal report released last week linking fracking to earthquakes.
