NYC Enviro Regulator Seeks Permit For Upstate Hydro Plant

Law360, New York (April 9, 2012, 8:05 PM EDT) -- The New York City Department of Environmental Protection has filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a permit to build a hydroelectric power station on a dam on the Delaware River, according to a notice set to appear in the Federal Register on Tuesday.

The proposed 14.08-megawatt Cannonsville Hydroelectric Project would be built on an existing 2,800-foot-long, 45-foot-wide dam at the Cannonsville Reservoir in Delaware County in upstate New York, according to the notice. The project also includes a one-acre tailrace, or channel...
