Preliminary Injunction Casts Shadow Over Microsoft Release

Law360, New York (April 13, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a move that could spell trouble for the release of Microsoft’s next operating system, a small data-networking company has been granted a preliminary injunction in a patent infringement lawsuit against the software giant.

A federal court in California last week issued the injunction that prevents Microsoft from “making, using, offering for sale, selling, importing or inducing others to use Microsoft's 'Chimney,' TCP offload architecture,” Alacritech said in a statement.
