Satellite TV Techs Win Cert. In OT Suit Against UniTek

Law360, New York (April 11, 2012, 1:36 PM EDT) -- A Maryland federal judge conditionally certified a class of satellite TV technicians Tuesday in an overtime collective action against UniTek Global Services Inc., unswayed by the argument that the court should apply heightened scrutiny to the certification bid because some discovery had been completed.

U.S. District Judge Deborah Chasanow partially granted Jeffry Butler and Charles Dorsey's bid for conditional certification and court-facilitated notice for a group of technicians who worked out of two Maryland warehouses during the past three years.
