Ad Regulator Says Oracle Should Ax IBM Comparison Claims

Law360, Chicago (April 11, 2012, 7:36 PM EDT) -- An advertising industry self-regulator said Thursday that Oracle Corp. should pull certain ad claims comparing its SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 computer system's price and performance to that of an IBM product, responding to a challenge launched by IBM.

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus reviewed claims Oracle made in ads in the Wall Street Journal, the Economist and on its website, including its express claim that its SS T4-4 computer system "runs Oracle & Java twice as fast as IBM's fastest computer,"...
