LA Firm Can't Avoid Years-Old Wrongful Termination Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (April 11, 2012, 3:08 PM EDT) -- A California state judge on Wednesday refused to nix a secretary's wrongful termination suit against Los Angeles law firm Martin & Martin LLP, rejecting the firm's argument that the lawsuit — filed more than five years after the secretary was fired — is time barred.

Judge Kevin C. Brazile said a provision of the California Labor Code requiring the state to notify parties of possible labor violations within 60 days of a complaint's being filed is discretionary.
