HSBC Prevails In Majority Of Ex-Banker's Termination Suit

Law360, New York (April 11, 2012, 8:20 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday ruled mostly in favor of HSBC Bank USA NA in a former employee's wrongful termination suit, saying it would not expand an exception to New York's employment-at-will doctrine to the ex-banker.

Despite granting the bank summary judgment on Joseph Dimino's wrongful termination and breach of implied-in-law contract claims, U.S. District Judge Harold Baer refused to rule in HSBC's favor on Dimino's gender discrimination allegation.
