NJ Civil Enforcement Efforts Racked Up $150M In 2011

Law360, New York (April 12, 2012, 7:22 PM EDT) -- New Jersey civil enforcement efforts amassed $150 million in settlements and judgments last year in disputes related to consumer and securities fraud, environmental damage and debt recovery, the state announced Thursday.

That figure includes $14.7 million in judgments in a civil mortgage fraud case involving Casey Properties LLC of Montville and a settlement with companies accused of discharging chromium waste in Hudson County that included $15 million to fund past site remediation costs, according to the state attorney general's office.
