Ill. Health Systems Ditch Merger Plans After FTC Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (April 12, 2012, 6:50 PM EDT) -- OSF Healthcare System and Rockford Health System on Thursday reluctantly agreed to abandon their proposed merger following last week's decision by an Illinois federal judge to grant a preliminary injunction to the Federal Trade Commission temporarily blocking the deal.

The governing boards of the health care systems have given notice to the FTC that they are withdrawing their Hart-Scott-Rodino filings, OSF and RHS said in a statement.
