Fla. Pediatricians Ran Phony Billing Scheme, Suit Says

Law360, New York (April 13, 2012, 4:28 PM EDT) -- An employee whistleblower suit unsealed in federal court Thursday accuses a Florida pediatrician, the pediatric care group and billing company he operates, and others of conspiring to submit phony Medicare and Medicaid claims for critical surgical services involving severely ill children.

The qui tam suit claims that Dr. Albert Saltiel, his pediatric care group Florida Pediatric Associates LLC and his billing company Fountainhead Practice Management Solutions LLC have since 1999 knowingly falsified entries through a variety of schemes to substantially increase Medicare and Medicaid payments.
