Hospitals To Pay $1.6M To Settle Nurses' Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (April 17, 2012, 1:58 PM EDT) -- Abrazo Health Care Inc. network hospitals on Monday agreed to pay $1.6 million to a class of traveling nurses, becoming the final hospitals to settle allegations that Arizona health care centers operated a cartel that drove down temporary nurses' wages.

Lead plaintiffs Cindy Johnson, Barbara A. Craig and Stephanie L. Walker asked an Arizona federal court to preliminarily approve the settlement with Abrazo's five hospitals: West Valley Hospital, Maryvale Hospital, Arrowhead Hospital, Phoenix Baptist Hospital & Medical Center and Paradise Valley Hospital.
