Public To Chime In On NJ Beach Rules Opposed By Enviros

Law360, New York (April 17, 2012, 10:02 PM EDT) -- New Jerseyans on Wednesday will weigh in on the state Department of Environmental Protection's amended beach access rules that opponents contend still give towns too much authority.

The DEP is holding hearings on the revised rules it says will improve public access to New Jersey's beaches, bays and waterways. Initial rules unveiled last year won early support from groups including the New Jersey Business and Industry Association, which hailed the proposal as a return to "sanity and common sense."
