New Century, Deutsche Bank Settlement Approved

Law360 (August 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal bankruptcy court judge has signed off on a settlement agreement between bankrupt subprime lender New Century Financial Corp. and Deutsche Bank subsidiary DB Structured Products Inc., putting to rest a purchase contract dispute between the two companies involving the secondary market for mortgage loans.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin J. Carey signed an order approving the agreement on Tuesday, noting that the agreement appeared fair and reasonable, and in the best interests of the debtors, their estates, their creditors and other interested parties.
