Student Workers Hit Illinois State With FLSA Suit

Law360 (August 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The administration at Illinois State University has been hit with a collective action that accuses it of not paying its conference assistants proper overtime compensation for work they did over the summer.

In the complaint, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, the conference assistants allege that they were often forced to work over 40 hours per week without being paid time-and-a-half, a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
