Toshiba, Samsung, Others Targeted In Thumb Drive IP Blitz

Law360, New York (April 18, 2012, 4:31 PM EDT) -- A patent-holding company launched a wide-ranging litigation blitz Tuesday, suing Toshiba America Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and a host of other companies in Texas court and promising a related U.S. International Trade Commission action over a pair of patents for retractable-connector USB devices.

Anu IP LLP filed separate complaints accusing more than 30 companies of infringing either one or both of two patents it holds for mobile data storage products — also known as thumb drives — and requesting relief in the form of a judgment of infringement, a permanent injunction and an award of treble damages.
