More Parties Fall Out Of Orion Patent Case

Law360 (August 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Patent holding company Orion IP LLC has asked a federal judge to dismiss Maytag Corp. and its corporate parent Whirlpool Corp. from a suit alleging patent infringement of online sales methods by numerous high-profile companies.

Orion, together with the appliance companies, submitted the motion on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, requesting that Judge Leonard Davis dismiss all claims and counterclaims against Whirlpool and Maytag. Each party will bear its own costs, expenses and attorney's fees.
