Media Mogul Conrad Black Resolves Libel Suit

Law360, New York (April 18, 2012, 6:23 PM EDT) -- Jailed newspaper baron Conrad Black on Wednesday settled his defamation suit alleging directors at his former media chain wrongly tied him to a fraud scheme, shortly after the Canadian Supreme Court ruled it had jurisdiction to hear the dispute.

Black, who is serving a 42-month prison sentence in Florida on fraud and obstruction of justice charges over his alleged use of bogus noncompete agreements in newspaper sale agreements, struck a deal with former directors of Hollinger Inc., according to Black’s attorney, Lisa Munro.
