GOP Bills Aim To Boost Oil, Gas Activity On Federal Land

Law360, New York (April 19, 2012, 6:37 PM EDT) -- Republican Congressmen introduced a trio of bills Wednesday designed to increase onshore oil and natural gas production, reform leasing and speed up energy permitting on federal lands, continuing the GOP’s legislative push against the Obama administration’s energy policies.

Republicans from Colorado on the House Natural Resources Committee floated the Planning for American Energy Act, the Providing Leasing Certainty for American Energy Act and the Streamlining Permitting of American Energy Act, measures they say will break down regulatory hurdles thwarting domestic energy development.
