Cheap Shale Gas Prompts Dow Plans For $1.7B Ethylene Plant

Law360, New York (April 19, 2012, 5:18 PM EDT) -- Dow Chemical Co. is planning a $1.7 billion ethylene plant at the Michigan-based company's chemical manufacturing complex in Freeport, Texas, the company announced Thursday, part of a $4 billion expansion plan motivated by the low cost of shale gas used as a raw material.
