SEC Probes Houston American's Possible Securities Violations

Law360, New York (April 20, 2012, 12:56 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating Texas-based Houston American Energy Corp. to determine whether it has run afoul of securities laws, the company announced Thursday.

The SEC sent three subpoenas to the energy company in February and April, calling for the testimony of Houston's CEO and chief financial officer and requiring it to hand over certain documents, Houston said.
