ConocoPhillips Challenges Arbitrator's Ruling

Law360, New York (August 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- ConocoPhillips Co. on Wednesday appealed an arbitration award that granted employees at one of its refineries the right to take unpaid leave under the Family Medical Leave Act and paid short-term disability leave at the same time.

In a complaint filed with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, ConocoPhillips also said that it should be able to count short-term disability leave as an absence for disciplinary purposes.
