Wyeth Hit With $4M Jury Verdict In Prempro Suit

Law360, New York (April 20, 2012, 6:15 PM EDT) -- A federal jury in Connecticut on Wednesday told Pfizer Inc. unit Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc. to cough up about $4 million, and more in punitive damages, to a woman who claimed the company's menopause drug Prempro caused her breast cancer.

The jury, led by a U.S. attorney, awarded Margaret Fraser and her husband Joseph Fraser $4 million in compensatory damages along with punitive damages, the amount of which the court will decide, according to Gregory Bubalo, a Bubalo Rotman PLC attorney representing the Frasers.
