Northwestern Mutual Nets $480M In Seattle High-Rise Sale

Law360, New York (April 20, 2012, 7:23 PM EDT) -- The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. has sold the Russell Investments Center in Seattle to Los Angeles-based real estate investment firm CommonWealth Partners for $480 million, the insurance giant said Friday, less than three years after it bought the 42-story building.

Since it took over the 872,000-square-foot building in late 2009, Northwestern Mutual has brought the building’s occupancy up to 95 percent, the company said, stating that it had put it up for sale in December in line with “ongoing management of its real estate investment...
