Mayer Brown Reps Nestle On $12B Purchase Of Pfizer Unit

Law360, New York (April 23, 2012, 1:34 PM EDT) -- Swiss food and nutrition giant Nestle SA has agreed to acquire the infant nutrition unit of pharmaceutical titan Pfizer Inc. for $11.85 billion in the largest commercial transaction of 2012 to date, both companies said Monday.

Nestle said it would acquire Pfizer Nutrition, which markets brands like S-26 Gold, SMA and Promil, from the New York-based drugmaker in an all-cash transaction.

The 2012 sales of Pfizer Nutrition are estimated to reach $2.4 billion, according to Vevey, Switzerland-based Nestle.
