Toyota Unit Sues BorgWarner Over Timing Patents

Law360 (August 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Toyota Motor Corp. subsidiary has filed a lawsuit against engine parts maker BorgWarner Inc., accusing the Michigan-based auto systems supplier of infringing two patents related to variable camshaft timing technology.

Aisin Seiki Co. Ltd., which has its head office in Japan, filed its suit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, naming engine and drivetrain technologies company BorgWarner Inc. and BorgWarner Morse Tec Inc. as defendants.
