Microsoft, Others Escape MedioStream's Video Monopoly Suit

Law360, New York (April 24, 2012, 3:29 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Monday threw out MedioStream Inc.’s suit accusing Microsoft Corp. and others of antitrust violations after the companies allegedly stole trade secrets, finding the suit doesn’t state a proper claim for relief and most of its allegations are time-barred.

U.S. District Judge Ronald M. Whyte held, among other things, that even if the MedioStream’s allegations were enough to show an illegal agreement between the defendants, most of its claims are time-barred by the Sherman Act’s four-year statute of limitations.
