Pharmacia, Tiffany, Others Can't Escape NJ Pollution Suit

Law360, New York (April 24, 2012, 7:11 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey appeals court ruled Tuesday that prior settlements and other arguments couldn't free Pharmacia Corp., Tiffany & Co. and a slew of other third-party defendants from sprawling litigation over environmental damage to the Passaic River.

The companies were among about 300 entities that Maxus Energy Corp. and Tierra Solutions Inc. slapped with third-party complaints seeking contribution for their alleged roles in contaminating the Newark Bay Complex, which includes 17 miles of the Passaic River, the Newark Bay and other waters.
