GOP Keystone Measure In Doubt As Dem's Support Wavers

Law360, New York (April 24, 2012, 8:24 PM EDT) -- Senate Republicans negotiating a final version of transportation funding legislation face an uphill battle over an amendment requiring approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, with a key Democrat supporter signaling Tuesday he wouldn’t insist the measure be included in the bill.

Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., indicated he wouldn’t push for the amendment without being sure that the bill would pass the Senate and win approval from President Barack Obama, who has threatened to veto the legislation if includes a provision fast-tracking the controversial pipeline.
