Survey Warns Of Nanotech Patent Hoarding

Law360 (April 21, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A gold-rush mentality has taken hold in nanotechnology, leading to a troubling trend of “patent hoarding” and the granting of overlapping patents, a survey by market researcher Lux Research concludes.

The report, developed in partnership with patent attorneys in the nanotechnology practice at law firm Foley & Lardner LLP, claims that overlapping claims will make it hard for many patent holders to cash in on their inventions.
