Freescale, Funai End Chip Patent Fight In ITC

Law360, New York (April 25, 2012, 5:54 PM EDT) -- Freescale Semiconductor Inc. on Tuesday dropped a complaint before the U.S. International Trade Commission after Funai Electric Co. Ltd. agreed not to import allegedly infringing integrated circuits and chip sets used in televisions.

Under the settlement, Funai is barred after May 2013 from importing any televisions that contain integrated circuits made by Taiwanese company MediaTek Inc., which Freescale had claimed violated certain portions of U.S. Patent Number 5,467,455.
