Vanguard To Get $40M From CMS In $3B Medicare Settlement

Law360, New York (April 25, 2012, 7:22 PM EDT) -- Vanguard Health Systems Inc. on Tuesday was the latest hospital operator to reveal that it is part of a reported $3 billion industrywide settlement with the federal Medicare agency and will receive $40.6 million from the deal.

Vanguard, which owns at least 28 hospitals and medical facilities, said in a regulatory filing that it expects to receive its share in June as part of an expansive settlement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in litigation...
