BCBG Can't Bag Givenchy's Purse IP Suit

Law360, New York (April 26, 2012, 3:14 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Wednesday struck down BCBG Max Azria Group Inc.'s bid to dismiss claims it made knockoffs of Givenchy SA's signature Nightingale handbag, finding that Givenchy's allegations of trade dress infringement and unfair competition passed muster.

U.S. District Judge George H. King issued an order finding that BCBG's November motion for summary judgment had not shown that a reasonable jury would not find in favor of Givenchy's trade dress allegations.
