SEC Sets Sights On Bristol-Myers In Foreign Bribery Crackdown

Law360, New York (April 26, 2012, 5:35 PM EDT) -- Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. has been subpoenaed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as part of an investigation into possible Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations abroad, the company said Thursday.

The subpoena, issued in March, relates to Bristol-Myers' sales and marketing practices in various countries, the pharmaceutical giant said in a regulatory filing with the SEC.

“The company is cooperating with the government in its investigation of these matters,” the filing said.

A company spokeswoman declined to comment further.
